PLYMOUTH, Mich., Sept. 7, 2011 — Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies, the world’s largest producer of elastomeric seals and custom molded products, will showcase products enhancing the safety, quality and durability of electrified vehicles at The Battery Show 2011 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, formerly known as Rock Financial Showplace, in Novi, Mich., Oct. 25-27.

“As the automotive industry moves to electrify vehicles, our goal is to deliver large-scale battery pack assemblies that are as safe, reliable and durable as today’s conventional powertrain technologies,” said James Joyce, Manager of Strategic Product Development at Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies, the Americas joint venture between Freudenberg & Co. of Germany and NOK Corporation of Japan. “We provide highly engineered products capable of performing over a broad range of temperatures and environments without compromising product performance, and we’re already deeply involved in the emerging world of vehicle electrification.”

With operations in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific markets, Freudenberg-NOK can tap a vast network of chemistry, design, product engineering and manufacturing experts to provide solutions for the global vehicle electrification industry. A wide range of these innovative products will be on display at the conference.

Freudenberg-NOK utilizes nearly two dozen polymer families and more than 2,000 raw materials to provide premium battery protection technologies including battery pack gaskets, cell frame sealing, plug-and-seal technologies, compensation elements and liquid detectors.

The Freudenberg-NOK Mechatronics engineering staff is well versed in electronics, heating, interconnection systems, wiring and other technologies. Its flexible printed circuits are mechanically and electronically integrated into a single unit with a bus bar plate to reliably connect the individual cells that make up hybrid and electric vehicle battery packs. Freudenberg-NOK Mechatronics also produces flat wire and liquid detection sensing for multiple applications, which provide superior heat distribution, weight and packaging savings, and reduced assembly time.

Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies’ advanced battery components and technologies will be on display at TBS Booth B152.
