1849
By the time Heintze & Freudenberg is established there is already a lively trade with the USA through Heintze & Sammet exports.
1926
Western Hide & Skin Corporation in Los Angeles is acquired as a commodity purchaser for the tannery. The company relocated to Panama in 1950 and is closed in 1972.
1929
The first American sales company is set up: Carl Freudenberg Inc., Boston. The company is dissolved in 1935 under the laws of the Third Reich and capital was transferred to the Reichsbank.
1950
First post-war foreign company established with an American partner: Pellon Corporation in Lowell, Massachusetts, which produced interlinings.
1955-56
Cooperation with Greer Hydraulics to produce polyurethane parts. The company is subsequently acquired by Freudenberg and began producing polyurethane molded and hydraulic parts under the name Disogrin in 1957. It is integrated into FNGP in 1989.
1961
Teneria TEMOLA tannery in Cuautla, Mexico, is purchased. The majority of the shares are sold to a partner in 1981, the remaining shares sold in 1992.
1967
A subsidiary called elBe Products is set up to sell nonwovens and synthetics.
1968
First participation in International Packings Corp., Bristol, New Hampshire. Freudenberg subsequently acquired all shares and integrated the company into FNGP in 1989.
1972
Pellon Chemotextiles in Cornwall, Canada, established with an American partner (sold in 1987).
1975
SIMRIT DE MEXICO established with the partner Irurita.
1979
Purchase of Escan Corp. in Escanaba; the company produces vibration control components; and is integrated into FNGP in 1989.
1981
Lutravil Company in Durham, North Carolina, partnered with an American company to manufacture spunbonded nonwovens. The company became wholly-owned in 1986 and is now called Freudenberg Spunweb Company.
1982
Klüber Lubrication North America LP in Manchester, New Hampshire is established.
1989
Freudenberg established partnership with NOK; all seals and vibration control technology companies are brought into Freudenberg NOK General Partnership (FNGP).
1996
Klüber Lubrication München acquires the lubricant manufacturer Summit Industrial Products in Tyler, Texas.
1998
Freudenberg Household Products KG acquires a production facility for floor cleaning equipment with 120 associates from M.B. Walton in River Grove, Illinois. The new outlet is called Freudenberg Householdproducts LP.
2003
Freudenberg IT KG establishes its US subsidiary Freudenberg IT LP.
Freudenberg Household Products KG purchases the US company O-Cedar Brands to further strengthen its presence in America. O-Cedar Brands are integrated in Freudenberg Householdproducts LP, Northlake, Illinois.
In Manchester, New Hampshire, Freudenberg sets up a Corporate Center for North America.
2004
Freudenberg purchases the Foseco GmbH US subsidiary Chem-Trend in Howell, Michigan, a release agent manufacturer established in 1960.
2006
Freudenberg NOK General Partnership acquires the Canadian Company Imperial Rubber and Urethane Corporation in Nisku, Alberta in Canada in order to produce technical solutions for the oil and gas industry.
Freudenberg NOK General Partnership acquires the medical company Helix Medical LLC in Carpinteria,California, which produces syntactical parts for the surgical applications.
2007
Freudenberg Household Products KG acquires 80% of the shares of S. Marino Manufacturing Ltd. in Toronto, Canada.
2008
Freudenberg NOK General Partnership acquires Anura Plastics Engineering in Balwin Park,California with further locations in the USA and China (Shenzen/Guandong) in order to widen the healthcare/medical division.
