Helix Medical, founded in 1984 and headquartered in Carpinteria, CA, is a leading custom manufacturer for the medical device, healthcare, biotech, pharmaceutical, and IVD specialty markets. Helix Medical’s global footprint includes six medical manufacturing operations located within the US, Europe, and Asia with a seventh manufacturing facility starting production in Costa Rica in early 2012. Contract manufacturing services include development, silicone and thermoplastic molding and extrusion, complex diagnostic and therapeutic catheters, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and engineering services. In addition to its custom operations, Helix Medical manufactures and markets the HelixMark® brand of platinum-cured silicone tubing and fluid handling components for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Helix Medical also operates a medical device division called InHealth Technologies. InHealth is the developer and manufacturer of Blom-Singer™ voice restoration products and ENT products that are distributed worldwide. In 2010 Helix Medical purchased a 50 percent share of VistaMed Ltd. VistaMed, located in Carrick-on-Shannon, Ireland, specializes in the development and manufacture of complex catheter systems and thermoplastic extrusions for medical devices.
